Application of eco-environmental sustainability principles

Applying the principles of eco-environmental sustainability 

The project is based on the following principles of eco-environmental sustainability:

  • environment integration
  • management of the water cycle
    all of the roofing and its covers are connected to a system of cisterns that upon their passage into a well are "cleaned". The dispersion of the residuals from the so-called "First Rain", allows for an accumulation of 50 cm of water. The amount, estimated with special software is enough for internal and external use for a period of approximately 2 months (without rainfall). This makes the use of more complex and expensive technical treatment of sewage and grey waters (phyto-purification and sewage) unnecessary.fiber - all eco-certifiedfiber
  • plasterboard panels for internal finish and all eco-certified and recyclable
  • waterproofing treatments of floors and terraces / porches and the outside of the building all of eco-certified materials
  • adhesives for internal and external flooring - all of eco-certified materials
  • outdoor floors stone floor recycled, recyclable and all eco-certified
  • interior wood floors with no adhesive installation used to make the sound-insulating mat (all of recycled materials)
  • the interior and exterior painting cycles: all eco-certified
  • the finishing elements of the facades and roof coverings of natural aluminium - all recyclable
  • finishing facades elements in larch wood that has not undergone any treatment
  • reduction and waste control
  • building site waste produced is lower than standard and in some cases it was possible to activate the selection and disposal of certain residues and differentiated packaging
  • a rational selection of the building materials

all materials used wherever possible were selected according to priorities of use, function, LCA, and distance from natural production, from recycling and their recyclability, maintainability, ease of disposal etc. In particular we have used: 

  • plastic moulds for ventilation of the "void cells" or air spaces (partially filled with various porous material or gravel, located under the ground floor of an edifice to insulate it from natural humidity of the soil) these are recycled and recyclable
  • concrete produced on site and for large projects is used directly from factory next to the building site
  • recyclable galvanized steel
  • beams and glued laminated timber - all certified
  • beams and natural wood elements and plywood panels - all eco-certified
  • protective treatment of wood – all eco-certified
  • thermo-insulating panels in natural wood
  • thermo-insulated polystyrene panels (for against ground only) - all eco-certified
  • internal acoustic insulation panels in polyester recycled and recyclable
  • control of energy needs for thermal comfort and humidity
  • control of energy needs for visual comfort
  • all the rooms of the house have windows and furnishings of particular sizes that make little use or no use of artificial lighting during daylight hours.
